Margie Eloise Carter September 7, 1928 - October 23, 2014 Warner Robins, GA- Margie Eloise Carter, 86, walked into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, October 23, 2014. Eloise was born on September 7, 1928 in Montgomery County, Georgia to the late William Hiram and Thetus Gray Dixon. She attended Brewton-Parker College and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Mercer University. For 30 years, Eloise was a much-loved teacher and retired from the Houston County Board of Education in 1986. She was awarded "Teacher of the Year" near the end of her career. She was an avid fisherman and loved to go anytime the chance came. Eloise was a woman of faith and the heart of the Carter Family. She shaped their spirituality by her tireless Christian example. Andrew United Methodist was her church home. Eloise was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Emery Elijah Carter; son-in-law, Richard R. Fleck; parents; and several brothers and sisters. Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, Mike Carter (Lynda) of Covington, Geniene Carter Moore (Larry) of Appling and Bonnie Carter Fleck of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Alan and Suzanne Carter, Amy and Jason Parker, Shannon and Brad Burnette, Jeffrey and Shannon Moore, and Bobby and Tiffini Fleck; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Dixon of Uvalda, Georgia; many wonderful nieces and nephews; and caregiver and friend, Gloria Curgil. Visitation will be Friday, October 24, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Andrew United Methodist Church in Kathleen. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Smyrna Methodist Church Cemetery in Uvalda, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given In Memory of Margie Eloise Carter to Andrew United Methodist Church, 2430 GA Hwy 127, Kathleen, GA 31047.
