BUTLER — Services were held for Margaret "Peggy" Condon White, 91, of Wayne, who died on Thursday, June 5, 2014. She was the mother of Stanley of this borough. Born and raised in Paterson, Mrs. White moved to Wayne in 1950. She worked for ADP in Paterson and then was a cafeteria worker at Kennedy Elementary School, Wayne. Also, she was a school crossing guard in Wayne for 15 years. She was a former Cub Scout den mother and a Lifetime Member of the Wayne Police Athletic League Ladies Auxiliary, serving for more than 40 years. She was a member of Preakness Reformed Church for more than 50 years. And, she was the first recipient of the Wayne Police Department Chiefs Award for volunteerism. Services were Tuesday at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, Wayne, followed by interment at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Chilton Medical Center, www.chiltonhealth.org/waystogive; to the Wayne First Aid Squad, P.O. Box 2004, Wayne, NJ 07474; or to the Wayne PAL, 1 PAL Drive, Wayne, NJ 07470. Mrs. White also is survived by her other sons, John of Wayne, and Robert of Queens, N.Y.; her daughter, Judy of Wayne; and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley.
