Margaret Violet Fern Szynkorenko (née Johnson) died on January 8, 2008 at the Englehart and District Hospital. Mrs. Szynkorenko had been ill for two years. She was born February 28, 1932 in Coleman Township to Nathan and Ellen Johnson and married Porfirij (Joe) Szynkorenko August 3, 1957 in New Liskeard. She was predeceased by her husband Joe, her parents, brothers George, Harry, Tom, Jimmy, Nathan, Leslie and sisters Grace and Tillie. She is survived by sister Albertine Gray, daughter Erelene (Terry) Chenette, son Edward (Maggie) Szynkorenko, grandchildren Trina, Trent, Stefan, Chad, Chelsea, great-grandchildren Jonah, Joshua and McKenna. Mrs. Szynkorenko was a member of the Christ Church Anglican in Englehart where she has lived since 1995 and St. Simons Anglican Church in Temagami. She was a cook, waitress and homemaker and will always be remembered for her spontaneous sense of humour. The funeral was held at Christ Church Anglican in Englehart with Reverend Linda White officiating January 11, 2008 with cremation to follow. Contributions to the Englehart and District Hospital in memory of Mrs. Szynkorenko would be greatly appreciated by the family.
