Margaret (Pat) TompkinsJohnson CityMargaret (Pat) Hall Tompkins, 89, of Johnson City and formerly of Utica, died on Friday, March 21, 2003, at the James G. Johnston Nursing Home. She was born on September 9, 1913 in Troy, N.Y., the daughter of the late Eli and Ethel Peck Hall. She married Harry D. Tompkins in 1941 in Troy, N.Y. He died on May 17, 1989. She worked as a nurse's aid at one point and more recently in the Social Service's Department for Oneida County. Mrs. Tompkins was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Utica for over forty years, where she enjoyed volunteering her free time. She was also a member of the New Century Club in Utica. She is survived by two daughters, Virginia T. Price and her husband, James F. of Endwell, N.Y., Mary Patricia Tompkins of Newport, N.Y.; three grandchildren, J. Michael Price and his wife, Christine of Kutztown, Pa., Christopher John Price and his wife, Renee of Longmount, Colo., John Patrick Cioch of Boston, Mass.; a sister, Barbara Bosworth of Jacksonville, Fla. and two nephews. The family would like to thank the James G. Johnston Nursing Home for the exceptional care that was given to Mrs. Tompkins.The funeral will be on, Tuesday at 11:00 at the Friedel, Williams, Coriale & Edmunds Funeral Home, 1123 Court at York Sts., with the Rev. Mark Caruana, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours be on Monday from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Friends may consider the James G. Johnston Nursing Home in her memory.
