MASON, MARGARET SHACKELFORD Ocala - Margaret Shackelford Mason was born in Goldsboro, North Carolina on March 4, 1924. She moved to Florida with her family at the age of 4 and has been a Marion County resident ever since. She passed away in her sleep on October 23, 2008. She attended Ocala Schools, graduating in 1942 from Ocala High. She attended Mars Hill College in North Carolina and graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and returned to Ocala to teach at Ocala Junior High School for ten years. She was baptized into the First Baptist Church of Ocala and a long time member of Highlands Baptist Church where she taught pre-school Sunday school. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Summerfield where she was active in the Senior's Group and taught Sunday School for many years. She is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Ray Mason who resides in Summerfield, her daughter Ellen Lindow, her son-in-law, Michael Lindow, grandchildren Kevin Lindow and Lydia Forbes and great-grandson Timothy Michael Forbes, all of Plant City, Florida, and her brother, William J Shackelford of Austin, Texas.
