DAVIS Margaret Scott Davis, a lifelong resident of Florida, passed away on March 9, 2013 following a brief illness in the home of her daughter in Delmar, NY. Margaret was born December 13, 1916 in Arcadia Florida. She graduated from Desoto High School. She attended Longwood College in Virginia and Florida Southern College. She was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She graduated from Excelsior College in Albany NY at the age of 83. She worked with her husband as Secretary-treasurer at Davis & Marr Supply Co. She was an active member of the South Jacksonville Presbyterian Church for 60 years. She was a courageous woman who met any challenge head on. She lost her hearing as a child, so she became an expert lip reader. The fifth of six girls, she always had hand-me-down clothes; she would alter their appearance to make it uniquely her own. She loved travel and visited many places in the world. She loved going to the beach for a couple of weeks every summer. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Herbert T. Davis, Jr. She is survived by her son Herbert (Bert) T. Davis III (Esther) and daughter Emrie Davis LaBarge (John), five grandchildren: Elizabeth LaBarge, Dave Davis, John LaBarge, Scott Davis (Dani), and James LaBarge, two great-grandchildren: Enzo and Thad Davis, and by her special cousin, Anne Barcelo A Memorial Service will be held at the Carriage Club of Jacksonville on Friday, March 22 at 11:00 am.
