STARR, Margaret "Peggy" Ramsay, 93, passed away peacefully at home on September 6, 2013. Peggy was born March 28, 1920 in Dora, Alabama, an identical twin to Mary Ramsay Baldwin, who passed away earlier this year. Peggy attended Connecticut College for Women in New London and received her Bachelors of Arts degree on June 14, 1942. She was married on January 10, 1943 to Lieutenant ( j.g. ) John Starr, who was a 1941 graduate of the United States Coast Guard Academy. Sadly, John was killed serving his country on March 3, 1943. Peggy served as church secretary at Swaim Memorial Methodist Church in Jacksonville, Florida from January 1945 to January 1991. It was here that God blessed her with many wonderful, lifelong friendships. Peggy enjoyed retirement in Jacksonville for several years before relocating to Tampa to share her remaining years with her beloved twin. She will always be remembered for her quick wit and generous spirit. Survivors include her niece and namesake Peggy Gaskins; nephew and wife, Peter and Dolores Baldwin; great nephew and wife, John and Stacy Baldwin; brother-in-law, David Starr and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Home Helpers for the many kind and caring workers who cared for Peggy in the last nine months. A special thank you is extended to Julianne Easterling, Olivia Conrad, Jamie Cupp and Megan McElhiney. The outstanding care she received from LifePath Hospice is also greatly appreciated. Flowers will be gladly accepted or in lieu of flowers donations may be made to LifePath Hospice, 12470 Telecom Drive, Suite 300, Temple Terrace, FL. 33637. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 14th from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM at Blount & Curry MacDill Avenue Chapel, 605 S. MacDill Avenue. Peggy's eternal resting place will be Sylvan Abbey Cemetery in Clearwater.
