EDGEFIELD, S.C. - Margaret Padgett Fields, 58, of 60 Simmons Road, the wife of John Henry Field, Jr. died on September 10, 2009 in Mattie C. Hall Nursing Center. Born in Edgefield, SC, daughter of the late Alvin and Willie Ella Weaver Padgett, a member of Willow Spring Baptist Church and retired from Edgefield County Hospital Dietitian Department. Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, Cordero V. Fields of the home and Johnny Carlton Fields, Clinton, SC; two brother, Ulysses (Alice) Padgett and Alvin Padgett, Jr. both of Edgefield, SC one brother-in-law, 5 sisters-in-law, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Willow Spring Baptist Church conducted by Reverend Anthony Gordon burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Butler & Sons Funeral Home, Saluda, SC, is in charge.
