MORRISON _ Margaret Caroline 1905 - 2005 Margaret Caroline Morrison passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 3, 2005 at the wonderful age of 100 years. Margaret was born Karolina Margret Sveinsdottir, in Rejkavik, Iceland on July 8, 1905 and lived a vibrant and healthy life. She came to Canada on her own as a young teen, settling to raise her family in Banff, AB. Margaret and Jim ran a hardware store and owned the Morrison Cabins. During the war years, Margaret and Jim ran the Mount Norquay Ski Hill and then became the Titleist Canadian distributor until their retirement to Vancouver, BC in the 1960s. Margaret was a beautiful skier and golfer. Her Icelandic heritage and family were always near to her heart, returning often to visit family. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Gosling; nine grandchildren, David (Susan) Paterson, Alan (Carolyn) Paterson, Carolyn (Marc) Mulvaney, James (Judy) Gosling, Barbara (Derek) Gosling, Geoffrey (Darcie) Gosling, Doug (Sandi) Morrison, Scott (Leanne) Morrison, and Robert (Lia) Morrison; seventeen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren, siblings Joi and Lilla; as well as her in-laws, Herb Paterson and Mary Morrison. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Jim; children, Gordon and Dorothy; siblings, Oskar, Sveinn, Helga; grandchildren, Gordon and Margaret. The family would like to thank Doret Foster for her loving and devoted care of Margaret for the past several years. A Memorial Service will be held at MCINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, December 9, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Banff Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. A Celebration of Margaret's Life will be held at the Banff YWCA at 3:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Red Cross Society, 737 - 13 Avenue S.W., Calgary, AB T2R 1J1 (Telephone 403-541-6100).
