She graduated from Longwood College, Farmville, VA in 1952. Mrs. Mason was preceded in death by her husband, John Philip "Phil" Mason, whom she married in 1953; her daughter, Elizabeth Birchett, of Arrington, TN; and also her sister, Kathryn Simpson, of Front Royal, VA. She is survived by her daughter, Catherine "Katy," and her husband Mark Graham, of Brentwood, TN; her daughter, Anne, and her husband, Michael Montalbano, of Loveland, OH; Gary Birchett, and his wife, Tammy, of Arrington, TN; her brother, Jim Miller, and his wife, Rebecca, of Elkton, VA; grandchildren, Caroline, Mason, and Parker Graham; Philip, Andrew and William Birchett; and Michael and Meredith Montalbano.A private family service will be held. Contributions may be made to the John Philip Mason scholarship endowment at VA Tech, Blacksburg, VA or The Church of the Good Shepherd.
