MAGUIRE , Margaret Mary "Billie" (nee O'Kelly) December 29, 1925 - May 31, 2009 Margaret Mary "Billie" Maguire passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at the age of 83 years. Billie was born in Ireland's County Cork and spent her formative years in Sligo and Dublin. She immigrated to Canada in 1960, starting a new life in Ontario and spending the 1960s and 1970s in Sept-Iles, QC. Billie worked full-time, while single-handedly raising her family. In 1981, Billie retired early from the Iron Ore Company of Canada and drove across the country to join her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Steven in Calgary. Here in Calgary, Billie started a new career with the Mannix Group, spanning twelve years. Like her older sister Ger and brother Liam, Billie enjoyed the family tradition of playing piano. She loved attending events such as Canmore's Folk Festival and the Calgary International Organ and Piano competitions. Billie enjoyed driving through the mountains and Foothills, the Stampede and revelling in her family's activities and accomplishments. Her kindness and consideration were appreciated by all who knew her, inspiring the many wonderful people who loved and cared for her. Billie is survived by her three children, Lisa (Steven), John (Alexandra), and Paul (Patricia); six grandchildren, Rob (Miki), Will, Carolyn, Sarah, Erin, and Chris; as well as great-grandchildren, Nate and Emi.
