Margaret Mary Crosson KNIGHTDALE, NC - Margaret Mary (Peggy) Crosson (nee Higgins), 81, of Knightdale, NC, formerly of Robbinsville, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009. Peggy will be remembered for the unbounded love she had for her family and God, and her infectious sense of humor and optimism. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 1927, Peggy was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred Higgins. She was one of seven children, leaving behind sisters, Florence and Helene, and brothers, John and Francis. She was preceded in death by brothers, James and Joseph. Peggy was a graduate of Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls in Philadelphia, PA. She was employed as an executive secretary, administrative assistant and sales representative. She volunteered through the years for many organizations, and was very active in the Girl Scouts of the USA, particularly with her daughter, Mary. In recent years, she was an active member and served as an officer in the Raleigh, NC, division of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. A beloved mother, grandmother and aunt, Peggy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 48 years, Jack Crosson, former Trenton postmaster; son, Jack Crosson and wife, Denise, of Raleigh, NC; daughter, Mary Crosson Welle and husband, Kenneth, of Urbana, IL; son, Michael Dennis Crosson and wife, Brigitte, of Yardley, PA, and seven grandchildren, Sean, Jennifer and Gabrielle Crosson, Laura, Theresa and Julia Welle, and Eva Crosson. She also leaves behind many wonderful cousins, nieces and nephews, and a legacy of extended family and many dear friends whose lives she's touched over the years. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Center of the Carolinas, 4101 Macon Pond Rd., Raleigh, NC 27607, or Triangle Aphasia Project, 3000 New Bern Ave., Raleigh, NC 27610.
