Margaret Marianna Brock, Springfield, was called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, February 18, 2006, after a brief and courageous battle with leukemia. Marianna was born in Springfield to the union of Flossie Anderson and Johnnie Scroggins on April 16, 1933. Marianna graduated in 1951 from Springfield High School and attended Draughon's Business College. She was united in marriage to Glenn Allan Brock on December 27, 1952. Marianna raised her family in many cities across the country including Pensacola and Jacksonville, Fla., Spartanburg, S.C., Kansas City, Mo., Overland Park, Kan., Norristown, Pa., and lastly, in Springfield, Mo. Marianna then embarked on a second career in business and church administration. She retired as the Church Secretary at College Street Baptist Church, after 18 years, in December, 2005. Marianna was a member of the National Association of Baptist Secretaries. She volunteered at St. John's Hospital for the St. John's Auxiliary. She was co-chairperson for the Springfield High School Class of '51 Reunion Committee. Marianna was a loving mother, wife, sister, daughter, niece and friend. Her energy, selflessness, and perpetual smile was admired by all who knew her. She is already missed by her family and friends who cherish their memories of her. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bob Scroggins. She is survived by her husband of over 53 years, Glenn Brock, of the home four children: Stephanie (Brock) Hilton and Gary, and Stacey (Brock) Naeger and Kevin, all of Springfield Glenn Brock II and Katherine, Gladstone, Mo. Gates Brock and Pamela, Tulsa, Okla. five grandsons: Jason Hilton, Vidalia, Mo. Brian Hilton, Chip Mezo, Dalton McIllwain, all of Springfield and Will Brock, Tulsa, Okla. sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Ed Wolfe, Nixa aunts, Opal Coats and Juanita Anderson, both of Springfield sister-inlaw, Barbara Adams, Brookline and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services and burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2006, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Thieme-Shadel Funeral Service at Rivermonte.
