Obituary of Margaret-Marge-M. Carter


Margaret Marge M. (McCabe) Carter, age 84, a long-time resident of Woodbury and later Lakebridge and The Terraces, Sewell, died peacefully Friday morning surrounded by her family. Marge grew up in Merchantville, attended Pennsauken H.S. and worked at RCA Victor before marrying William James Carter Jr. on May Day, 1948. Marge was a member of West End PTA, a founding member of the Woodbury Track Parents Assoc., a cast member in Woodburys Tri-centennial Pageant, and defending Terraces Wii Bowling Champion. She loved dancing, cards and games and rooting on her Phillies, but her lifelong devotion was to her large family and many friends, some of whom honored her recently with a reception. She is survived by her husband; seven children, Margaret Carter-Minton, Linda (Mark) Bateman, William James (Chris) Carter III, John (Mary) Carter, Mary Ann (John) Alulis, Carolyn Carter (Satnam) Singh, Joyce (Bill) Emmell; 13 grandchildren, Scott (Kerri) Minton, Janet Bateman (John Word), Thomas and Lauren Bateman, William James IV and Samuel Carter, John, Matthew, Alix and Peter Carter, John and Sarah Alulis and Ashley Emmell; brothers James and Edward (Doris) McCabe; sister-in-law Helen McCabe. She is predeceased by her brother John and sister Jane. Visitation will be at St. Patrick’s Church, Woodbury, Tuesday, 6:00-8:00 pm and Wednesday, 10:00-11:00 am, followed by Mass. Donations in lieu of flowers to St. Patrick’s Church, 64 Cooper St. Woodbury, NJ 08096. Tributes and memories may be shared at www.mcgfuneral.com.
