Margaret M. Root of Owego Margaret M. Root, 88, of Owego, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2009, at Elderwood Care in Waverly. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, James and Sophia Greer McSorley; husband, Charles R. Root, Sr; son, Charles "Duke" Root, Jr. Margaret is survived by her children, Vicky (Martin) Eppner of Barneveld, NY, Lorena (Thomas) Martin of Cary, NC, and Joseph (Tuon) Root of West Palm Beach, FL; eight grandchildren, Michael, Kim, Allison, Thomas, Andrew, Garrett, Priscanna, and Travis; and nine great-grandchildren. Margaret was very close to her family and loved her children and grandchildren very much. She also loved to cook. Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
