HANSEN, Margaret (Peggi) Joan October 25, 1930 - March 1, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peggi on Sunday, March 1, 2009 in Calgary at the age of 78 years. Peggi was born in Hamilton and moved to Calgary in 1956. She was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, and a caring, devoted grandma. She had a zest for life, travelling and loved playing bridge. She had a quick wit and charming personality which endeared her to her numerous friends. She put a smile on the face of all who came in contact with her, and she left a legacy of warmth, kindness, and generosity. Her courage and strength were an inspiration to her family and many friends. She is survived and will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Alden; her children Geoffrey, Michele (Graham), Suzanne (Mark); her stepchildren Phil (Cathy), Tom (Wanda), Susan, Carol (Rob), Doug (Nicole); her grandchildren Danielle (Craig), Phil, Kristen, Durham, Natasha; nineteen step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and eight step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Georgie (Jack) and Theresa, her brother Ted (Margaret); as well as other extended family and friends. A Memorial Service in celebration of Peggi's life will be held at Woodcliff United Church (5010 Spruce Drive S.W., Calgary, AB) on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family wishes to thank Dr. Tkalych, Dr. de Robles and the wonderful staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, Dr. Becker, and the truly compassionate Home Care team that cared for her during her final months.
