Margaret J. (Kearney) Scully, of Weymouth, died June 1, 2013. She was 78. Margaret grew up in Jamaica Plain, before moving to Weymouth 45 years ago. An avid reader, Margaret also enjoyed baking. She was well known for her famous Irish bread. Throughout her life she provided child care for her extended family, which she enjoyed. The essence of her life was truly her family. She created a loving and caring home and provided unconditional love to all of them. They are grateful for all the blessings she brought into their lives. Margaret will be sadly missed by all those who knew her. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert C. Scully; cherised mother of Elizabeth A. Mellor and her husband Thomas of Hudson; sister of Michael Kearney of New Jersey and Phyllis Gifford of Weymouth and the late Anne Driscoll, Cecile Kisil, Bernard, Katherine, Alice, Daniel, Philip, William and Hugh Kearney; devoted Grammy of Caitlin and Kylie Mellor. Margaret is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours were held Thursday, June 6, 4-8 p.m. in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, at 809 Main St. (Rte. 18 opposite So. Shore Hospital), South Weymouth. A funeral Mass was held Friday in Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth, at 9:30 a.m. Burial in Village Cemetery, Weymouth.
