KENT, Margaret Isobel - On Friday, April 23, 2010 at the Ottawa Glebe Centre, Margaret Isobel Kent passed away peacefully at the age of 88. Daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. F.W. Waters of Hamilton, she was predeceased by her first husband Bruce Meredith Broad in 1979 and by husband Charles Deane Kent in 1992. She will be deeply missed by her children Douglas Broad (Dominique Paquet) of Toronto, Judith Alexander (John Houde) of Ottawa and Ian MacDonald of Vancouver and her beloved granddaughter Jamie Alexandra Broad. A graduate of McMaster University, Dr. Margaret Kent later received her M.A. and Ph.D. from McGill University. Her passions were world travel and English literature. She travelled and lived around the globe throughout her life and lectured at Sir George Williams University in the 1960s. She was loved by family and friends for her beauty, elegance and generous spirit and respected for her brilliant mind. Friends will be received by the family on Friday, April 30th from 2-3 p.m. at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry at 315 McLeod St., and are invited to attend the funeral service that follows at 3 p.m. and reception at 3:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
