Margaret Harris, born in 1927, spouse of Ralph-E. Strange, daughter of David and Margaret, mother of Nancy, Everett, Margaret and Wartburg, died on February 7, 2013 at 86 years old.
Margaret "Elizabeth" Harris, 86, of Kingston, passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at her home. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph E. Strange; brother, Dave Lillard; and parents, Margaret and David Lillard. She was a member of Luminary United Methodist Church and a retired elementary school teacher, having taught in both the Morgan and Roane County School systems. She was past matron of Kingston Chapter 405 of the Eastern Star, past royal matron of Charity Court 17, Order of the Amaranth, and a volunteer at Roane Medical Center.Survivors include her husband, Richard E. Harris; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Everett Massengill, all of Kingston; daughter, Margaret Morgan, Wartburg; sister, Mary Ford, Decatur; grandchildren, Terri and Roy Comer, Green Cove Springs, Fla., Eric and Chrissy Massengill , Kingston, Holly and Robbie Armes and Angel Mitchell, Wartburg, and Ginger Morgan, Johnson City; great-grandchildren, Zane and Grayson Comer, Emilee and Alexis Mitchell, Hannah and Erin Armes, Josie and Ville Massengill and Noah Halliburton; several nieces, nephews and cousins; four stepchildren; 17 stepgrandchildren; and 24 stepgreat-grandchildren.Funeral was at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, in Luminary United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Billy Kurtz officiating. Entombment was at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at Kingston Memorial Gardens. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in Luminary United Methodist Church.
