Peacefully at University Hospital with her family by her side, Mrs. Margaret Peggy Mawhinney (Hughes), age eighty of London Ontario, formerly of Montreal, Quebec, died December 9, 2008. Beloved wife of the late Walter Mawhinney (2000). Cherished mother of Brent and his wife Christine (Norris) of Mississauga. Loving Grandmother of Jennifer Hughes and her husband Terry of Burlington, and David Mawhinney and his fiance Sarah Cliffe of Hamilton. Loving great-grandmother of Vanessa and Ashley Hughes. Dear sister of Beryl and Bill Upton of Otterburn Park, Quebec, David Hughes of Ville St. Laurent, Quebec, and Glyn Hughes of Sarnia, Ontario. A special thank you to Dr. Maxwell and the nursing staff at University Hospital Emergency. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the service will be conducted on Friday, December 12, 2008 at 10 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Cremation with inurnment of ashes at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
