UntitledMARGARET "EVELYN" GOLDEN1916-2008Margaret "Evelyn" Golden, age 91, passed away Friday, February 22, 2008. Although Mrs. Golden was born in Pennsylvania and grew up in Tennessee, she resided in Milton for the past 52 years. She was a dedicated member of the local Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post #4833 and Fleet Reserve Association Branch 210. For many years she greatly enjoyed serving as a volunteer at her local polling precinct. Mrs. Golden had her children and grandchildren, but to so many, she was affectionately known as "Nana". She loved life to the fullest and had a natural charisma about her that touched all that met her. Mrs. Golden was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Carlton Douglas "Doc" Golden; and her brother, Edward Martin.Mrs. Golden is survived by her two daughters, Margie (Benton) Gracey and Gayle Golden of Milton; six grandchildren, Susan (Mickey) McCole, Andrea (Michael) Bell, Catherine Gracey, Ben Gracey, Pam Reynolds, and Todd McWaters; six great -randchildren, Kayla, Breeann, Hannah, Taylor, Mackenzie, and Tori; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services for Mrs. Golden will be 1:00PM Monday, February 25, 2008 at Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel with the Rev. Joey Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Serenity Gardens with LEWIS FUNERAL HOME directing. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Lewis Funeral Home in Milton.In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made in Mrs. Golden's memory to the American Cancer Society, 5401 Corporate Woods Drive, Pensacola, FL 32504.
