GIBBONS, MARGARET EDITH (PALMER) The death of Margaret Edith (Palmer) Gibbons, formerly of Fredericton, wife of the late Gilbert Elwood Gibbons occurred on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at the Orchard View Nursing Home, Gagetown. Born in Carroll's Crossing, NB, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Lila (Stewart) Palmer. Mrs. Gibbons was a housewife and raised 12 children. She was a member of the Cardigan United Church, enjoyed family gatherings, playing bingo, planting flowers, playing cards and knitting. Mrs. Gibbons was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by five sons, Henry of Ontario, Gilbert Jr. of Fredericton, Larry and Jerry of Stanley and John of Fredericton; six daughters, Elsie Doane of Jemseg, Marguerite Hovey of Porter Cove, Mary Lagacy of Fredericton, Laura Gibbons of Manitoba, Annie Gibbons and Eileen Newman both of Fredericton; grandchildren, Roberta Hachey, Cathy Boone, Stephen Boone, Janet Scott, Timothy Doane, David Doane, Tony Hovey, Chris Hovey, Brian Lagacy, Jerimah Gibbons, Jacqueline Wile, Jessica Gibbons, Holly McKay, Shawn McKay, Angel Newman, Barry Gibbons, Gordon Gibbons, Christine Gibbons, Suzi-Ann Gibbons, Justin Gibbons, Amanda Gibbons, Stacey Gibbons, Brett Gibbons and Shannon Gibbons; great-grandchildren, Mitchell Tomilson, Jodi Tomilson, Corey Boone, Courtney Boone, Crystal Gullison, Rebecca Boone, Adrienne Scott, Nicholas Scott, Kelly Lagacy, Jennifer Wile, Dakota Gibbons, Cody and Danielle. great-great-grand children, Thristen, Patric and Jenika and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Gibbons was predeceased by one daughter, Lila Francis; three sisters, Hallie, Rene and Sadie; nine brothers, Jesse, Ed, Clarence, Frederick, Harry, Walter, Perley, George and Raymond. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton North on Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday May 20, 2006 at 11am with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will be in the Cardigan Community Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be Brian Legacy, Barry Gibbons, Shawn McKay, Stephen Boone, Clark Harris and Ray Arseneault. Honourary Pallbearer will be Gerald Hovey. Thanks to the staff of Orchard View Nursing Home, Gagetown for the excellent care and compassion given to our mother during her stay in your care, with special thanks to Charlotte Hiscock, RN, Dr. Beal and Dr. Qureshi and sitters, Debbie Nyczai, Missy Delong, Betty Cameron, Melanie Sinclair, Carol Keetch, Carla Lagacy and Chris Hovey.
