Obituary of Margaret Carter

June 26, 2012 Noreen Carter, 71, of Bridgeport, left this world on June 26, 2012, after creating a lasting legacy of love. She was an amazing mother and a tremendous grandmother. A woman of grace and dedication, she was educated at SU, but that was not at the heart of her purpose in life. Her life was those she loved, her family. Noreen will be remembered for being the most giving, strong and selfless person you could know. She never held a grudge. She was the type of person who would give her life if it meant someone else would have a good one. Noreen was caring, devoted and put others first. Her legacy will go on in the lessons that she taught, to lead by example, to do what is right, and to be honest. There is not greater tribute than "we are who we are because she lived." Noreen spoke great wisdom in "it does not matter what you have because in the end all you have is each other." Noreen was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Sue Carter, in 1982 and lives on in her son, Ronald J. (Nancy) Carter; her daughter, Cathy Reeves; and her grandchildren, Alyse, Beth, Matthew, Hannah, John and Peter. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday in Bridgeport Cemetery.
