Obituary of Margaret-Brown Abbey


Margaret Brown Abbey, of 276 Garrett Drive, died Friday, March 2, 2001, at Laurens County Hospital in Clinton. She was a native of Petersburg, Va., a daughter of the late Willie Jenkins and Nora Horsely Jenkins and widow of Albert Abbey. She was a member of the Bethel Hall Baptist Church and a retired employee of Central State Hospital in Petersburg, Va. She was the last survivor of her immediate family. Survivors include Thomas and Ernestine Garrett of the home and a special friend, Margaret Dilworth of Lawrenceville, Va. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bethel Hall Baptist Church with Dr. N.P. Pearson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Garrett, 276 Garrett Drive, Laurens. - Beasley Funeral Home, Laurens
