Obituary of Margaret-Ann McKeown

FINN, Mrs. Margaret Ann (McKeown) - Peacefully on Monday, March 14th, 2005 at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre surrounded by family, Margaret, who friends knew as "Doll", was born on August 7, 1917, the only daughter to James and Ann McKeown. Sister to four brothers, Joe McKeown of Kingston and Eddie McKeown of Toronto, and William and Francis McKeown, predeceased. She and her husband, Michael James (Mickey) Finn, (predeceased 1970) raised their family in Peterborough. Margaret is survived by five loving children, Don and Carole (McGarrity) of Haliburton, Frank of Boca Raton, Florida, Mary and husband Don Ward of Peterborough, Madelon and husband Frank Morton of Peterborough and Joanne Robertson of Peterborough. Loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Margaret was "Nana" to seven grandchildren, Erin (Macdonell) and Eoin Finn, Francis and Dr. Chad Morton, Jennifer Ward and Amy and Sara Robertson. She also has two great grandchildren, Kiara and Adian Macdonell. Margaret was strong in her convictions and regularly attended mass at St. Peter in Chains Cathedral, located a short walk from her home. During the summers, she could be found at her cottage in Lakefield, surrounded by family and friends. Never one to make a fuss, she enjoyed her annual birthday party more than she cared to admit, and was always up for playing a hand of euchre. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the KAYE FUNERAL HOME MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 539 George Street N. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter in Chain Cathedral Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at 1 p.m. Interment at St. Peter's Cemetery. Parish Prayers 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
