Margaret-Alice Harris, born in 1914, spouse of Leslie-Friend Harris, mother of Jim and Olwen, died on October 28, 2006.
HARRIS _ MARGARET ALICE 1914 - 2006 Margaret (Peggy) was born on January 4, 1914 in Seattle, WA to Gertrude (Taylor) and Ernest Alfred Pooley and passed away peacefully on October 28, 2006. She was predeceased by her husband, Leslie Friend Harris (1978) and her brothers Alfred George Pooley (2002) and Robert Ernest Pooley (2003.) She is survived by her son Jim, her granddaughter Siobhan and her daughter Olwen; her sisters-in-law Juanita Harris, Joan Carter and Irene Pooley; her cousins Ena Roberts of Calgary, Eric Carpenter (Jess) and Lenore Girling of Australia; and many other family members and friends. Peggy grew up in Dollarton and Point Grey. She was married and raised her family in Vancouver. She was a teacher and worked for the Vancouver School District. She often remembered her students and colleagues at Seymour and Kerrisdale Schools. The family would like to thank the staff at Windermere Care Centre who provided Mom with excellent care. We would like to thank Dr. Stephen Roberts for his many years of thoughtful and compassionate care. We invite family and friends to get together at 1:00 p.m. on November 19th, 2006 for refreshments at Jim's, #1904-7368 Sandborne Ave., Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to either the B.C. Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C. and Yukon.
