Obituary of Margaret-A. Wheeler


MARGARET A. WHEELER PORTAGE, IN Margaret A. Wheeler, 74, of Portage, formerly of Chicago, passed away Friday, March 11, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Arthur Wheeler of Rutland, VT. She is survived by daughters: Julie Marie (Joe) Andrews of Chicago, and Pam Williams of Valparaiso; and four grandchildren: Lisa Roberts, Joshua Williams, of Valparaiso; Jack and Jonah Andrews of Chicago. Ms. Wheeler retired in 2003 from the Moody Bible Institute, in Chicago. She was a member of the Family Bible Church (FBC) in Portage, worked part-time in the church office for a number of years, served on the Worship Team, and directed the FBC Christian Drama Ministry. In addition, she volunteered at the Valparaiso Hospice Center, the Portage Resale Shop, and the Portage Food Pantry. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial gifts be made to the VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 20, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at the Portage High School west Auditorium Entrance G, 6450 US HWY 6, Portage, IN. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2011 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Edmonds and Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN. Cremation will take place at Heritage Crematory, Portage, IN. Online condolences may be made at: www.ee-fh.com
