Obituary of Mamie-Lou Johnson


Mamie Lou Johnson, 88, of Harriman, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at her home.She was born March 11, 1926, in Van Buren County. Following the marriage to her late husband, Charles Johnson, she moved to Roane County, where she had continued to live.Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a faithful Christian and a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning and cooking.In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, John Frazier and Della Ann Dotson Frazier; and sisters, Verda Lee Moneyham, Cora Mae Roberts, Amy Williams and Burnice Barns.She is survived by three daughters, Geneva Murray and husband Bill, Harriman, Linda Moore, Harriman, and Sheila Hood and husband Boots, Oliver Springs; a son, Willie Johnson and companion Juanita, Harriman; grandchildren, Ronald Murray, James Murray, Rebecca Hill, Darla Comeaux, Missy Nichols, Daniel Moore, Ashley Schuler and Charles Harmon; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.She is also survived by a sister, Pauline Mayfield; and brothers, Clyde Frazier and wife Sue Rufus, Earl Frazier and Vernon Frazier, all of Mooneyham, Tenn. Additionally, she has several nieces, nephews, extended family members and special friends.The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 28, in Sharp Funeral Home, Oliver Springs. The funeral followed at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Mike Nelson officiating. Burial and graveside services was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Harriman.
