Maggie Lee Farmer Williams, 88, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2006. She was born March 3, 1918, in Pitt County, N.C., daughter of the late Watson and Maggie Smith Briley. Maggie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 30 years and a member of the Sowers Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by first husband, John Farmer, and second husband, Levi Williams. She leaves to cherish her memory, five daughters, Joyce F. Wallace and husband Clarence (Pat), Shelby J. Eason, both of Rocky Mount, Ann F. Woolard and husband Carl, Gail F. Clark, both of Washington, and Donna K. Bowen and husband Arthur, Ormond Beach; son, Johnny R. Farmer and wife Carol, Rocky Mount; seven grandchildren, Wayne Wallace, Rocky Mount, Shannon Handshumacher, Raleigh, Lisa W. Waters and Wendy W. Paul, Washington, Charlie C. Clark, Jr., Chocowinity, Kimberly Cousins, Palm Coast, and Renae Ritzi, Ormond Beach; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. today (Thursday, June 1), at Bowling Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow in the Chapel of Bowling Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ben Brammer officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Flowers will be accepted or memorials can be made to Calvary Baptist Church New Vision Fund, 5055 Englewood Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
