Mae Williams, 93, of Mauldin, died Friday, August 6, 2004.Born in Whitakers, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Ernest Levy and Estelle Hopkins Williams.An award-winning artist, Mae was recognized both in the Chicago area and Upstate South Carolina for her painting and sculpture.She was a member of First Baptist Church, Greenville.She is survived by her daughter, Betsy Carol Hegg, of Arlington, Va.; a son, Yates Snowden Williams, Jr., of Virginia Beach, Va.; five grandchildren, Shannon Hegg, Richard Yates Hegg, Yates Snowden Williams, III, Charles Williams, David Williams; and nine great-grandchildren.
