Obituary of Mae Powell


Elizabeth Mae Robinson Powell of 109 O'Donald Lane, widow of Forrest Powell, passed away Friday, May 13, 2005, at her home.Born May 29, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Willie B. and Ina Holder Robinson.Mrs. Powell was a homemaker and member of Cannon Mountain Baptist Church.Surviving are four sons, Sam and his wife, Bonnie of Easley, Forrest and his wife, Linda, Carl and his wife, Karen, all of Pickens and Steve Powell of the home; three daughters, Doris and her husband, Harold Garrett of Six Mile, Louise and her husband, Rev. Joe Pace of Central, and Martha and her husband, David Porter of Pickens; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and two brothers, Glenn and Paul Robinson of Pickens.In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Millie O'Donald; and two sons, Lewis Eugene Powell and Howard Powell; a great granddaughter, Anna Duncan; two sisters; and two brothers. Funeral services will be held today, May 15, 2005, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Pickens County Home Health. The family will be at the home.Dillard Funeral Home is assisting the Powell family.
