MITCHELL, Mae Gertrude (nee Petrie) Passed away on January 8, 2007 at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Born May 3, 1919 in Edmonton, Alberta. Mae grew up in Edmonton and then moved with her parents to Cadomin on the 'Alberta Coal Branch'. She returned to Edmonton in 1943 and married Lloyd, her husband for 59 years. Predeceased by her husband, Lloyd, and two brothers William (Bill) and Stan Petrie, she is survived by two brother's Ray (Doreen), Phillip (Margaret) her sister-in-law, Phoebe; her two sons, Jim (Leona) and Garry (Heather), three grandchildren Jennifer and Cheryl Mitchell of Nanaimo and Sean Mitchell of Regina. In particular the family wishes to thank the professionals who knew Mae over the years, Dr. Guy Joly, her family physician, the emergency response staff in Nanaimo, and the staff of the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Memorial Services will be held at Telford's Memorial Services, 595 Townsite Road, Nanaimo, B.C., on Saturday January 13, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Nanaimo Community Hospice Society or the charity of your choice.
