Mae Mathis King, 78, widow of Milton Jackson King, of 108 Carroll Lane, died Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at Anderson Area Medical Center.Born in Philomath County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Henry T. and Cleo Lunceford Mathis. She was a member of First Baptist Church and worked for SC National Bank and Anderson College. Surviving are a daughter, Laurie J. King of Belton; and a brother, Henry T. Mathis Jr. of Greenville.She was predeceased by her sister, Virginia Mathis.Services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Cox Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dale Lynch and Dr. Booker Bagby officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories.The family will receive friends prior to the service, Thursday from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home.In Lieu if flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church; or to Meals on Wheels.The family will be at the residence.Cox Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
