Alberta Mae (Bertie) Hayesof WindsorAlberta Mae (Bertie) Hayes, 90, of Windsor, passed away Monday, April 19, 2004, peacefully at home, surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Ivan Hayes; and a grandson, Thomas Hayes. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Kay Hayes, Raleigh, N.C., and Donald and Mitzi Hayes, Windsor; seven grandchildren, including a special granddaughter and her husband, Karrie and Doug Shay, with whom she made her home; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great- granddaughter; a sister, Marie Warfel; a brother, Ralph Howell; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Naomi Shay. She was a member of the Windsor United Methodist Church and Windsor Lodge #190 O.E.S. A special thanks to Pastor Deborah Pritts and Priscilla Ksionzyk.Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. from the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 88 Chapel St., Windsor, with the Rev. Deborah Pritts, officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery.
