Mae-Belle-Lawson Lee, born in 1944, spouse of Charles-Edward Lee, mother of Betty Mae, Eddy, Teresa, Bobby and Betty, died on December 9, 2009 at 88 years old.
Mae Belle Lawson Lee, mother of quadruplet (four) boys born Aug. 27, 1944, at Hall County Hospital, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, following an extended illness. She was 88 years old and of the Baptist faith. The daughter of R.L. (Bobby) Lawson and Belle Kimsey, Mae Belle was born Nov. 15, 1921, in Hall County. She married Charles Edward Lee. They had one daughter and then the quadruplets. Two of the boys died the second day and the other two lived. The father, who was in the U.S. Army Infantry at the time, was killed in Belgium January 1945. He was a hero of World War II. She was a wonderful person, who was loved and respected by all who knew her. Mae Belle is also survived by one daughter, Betty Mae Lee of Athens; sons and daughters-in-law, Eddy and Teresa Lee of Gainesville and Bobby and Betty Lee of Murrayville; sisters, Norma Puckett of Oakwood and Mamie Abernathy of Clarkesville; three grandchildren, Robby Lee, Tara King and Scott Lee; four great-grandchildren, Tyler Lee, Mattie Whelch, Bryson Lee and John King; and a number of nieces, nephews and special friends.Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Wahoo Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Dean Bryant will officiate.
