ANDERSON, Agnes MaeDecember 22, 1928 - February 26, 2014Mae Anderson (Cousins), aged 85 years of Calgary, AB, formerly of Brandon, MB, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 after a brief illness. Mae was born in Tilston, MB on December 22, 1928 to the late Annie and Hughie Cousins. Mae was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. She took great pride and enjoyment in keeping an immaculate home, cooking, baking and entertaining and had a keen interest in volunteering and helping others. In 1976 she joined her husband Stewart in the ownership and operation of Custom Cylinder Head Rebuilders in Brandon, MB. After their retirement in 1991 they enjoyed many travels and time at Clear Lake and then made the move to Calgary in 2006 to be close to their family. She is survived by her loving husband of over 63 years, Stewart; daughter Valdyn (Brad) Gaukel; grandchildren Jordan Gaukel and Johanna (Sunjay) Kaushal, all of Calgary. She has a large extended family and many life- long friends. Since her move to Calgary with Stewart she has enjoyed much family time, never missing a birthday, anniversary, graduation and regularly hosted or attended Sunday family dinner. Her family were everything to her and she loved being "all" together. She adored her grandchildren with whom she had a special bond. She supported them unconditionally and this devotion fittingly came full circle as they were there at her side loving and supporting her through her final mile on this earth. Always positive in her outlook, she kept us all focused and calm over the last few months and was accepting and peaceful in her final days. We will miss her with all our hearts and cherish the times we spent together. She was always there when we needed her, and her final wish was that we all be there to support Stewart in the weeks and months ahead. At her request, a private family Memorial Service will be held at a later date. We wish to thank all the wonderful staff at Chartwell Newport Harbours Retirement Residence for their support. Also thank you from all the family for the numerous phone calls, emails, cards, flowers and support through this journey. A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Agape Hospice for your compassionate care. We are eternally grateful for your professional and loving support of us all. If friends so desire, memorial tributes can be made in Mae's memory to Agape Hospice, 1302 - 8 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1B8. Condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.edenbrookcemetery.ca. Arrangements entrusted to EDEN BROOK FUNERAL HOME and RECEPTION CENTRE (17 Avenue S.W. and Lower Springbank Road).
