Madge Warren Johnson Saratoga Springs-Madge Warren Johnson, formerly of Saratoga Springs and recently of Maplewood Manor passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, August 26, 2011. She was 89 years old. Born on January 26, 1922 in Transylvania, LA. She was the daughter of the late Morgan Luther Warren and Omie Pinkston Warren. Madge was the youngest and last survivor of six children. Madge moved to this area in 1951 from Louisiana. She was married to Curtis Elwood Johnson Sr. who died on May 21, 1999. She was also predeceased by her son, Curtis E. Johnson Jr.(Cindy) Mrs. Johnson was a proud and very active member in many of Saratoga's local Veterans Organizations. Organization such as the V.F.W Auxiliary Post 420, the Military Order of the Cootie #33, a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary #70 and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary #158. She volunteered for many years for the Saratoga Chapter of the American Red Cross and was a member of the Saratoga YMCA "Y" Womens Club. Madge was also a member of the Saratoga Springs United Methodist Church. Survivors include three sons; Fred B. Johnson (Mary) of Madison WI, Donald W. Johnson of Roy, UT and Van W. Johnson (MaryAnn) of Greenfield Center, NY; 8 grandchildren Rob, Patrick, Andrew, Jake, Xanthe, Lani, Curtis III, and Susan; as well as 6 great grandchildren. Friends and family may call from 4 - 8 PM on Friday, September 2nd, 2011 at Tunison Funeral Home, 105 Lake Avenue, Saratoga Springs. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 3rd, 2011 at Tunison Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Wilton, NY. Memorial donations can be made in her memory to the Residents Activities Fund at Maplewood Manor, 149 Ballston Avenue, Ballston Spa, NY 12020
