Born in Greenville, the daughter of the late James Allen and Mabel Lee Stover Johnson, she graduated from Anderson College and attended Furman, the University of South Carolina and Greenville Tech. She was a former teacher and actress. She had acted in numerous Greenville Little Theatre productions, winning a "Juvenile Oscar" and "The Best Actress of SC" at the Palmetto Drama Festival. Miss Johnson was a frequent public speaker for the Arts, a member of the First Presbyterian Church and attended McCarter Presbyterian Church.Graveside services were held Thursday, March 21, 2013 in Springwood Cemetery. Mackey Mortuary was in charge.
