Mabel Jean Mann 1940-2015 It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Mabel Jean Mann which occurred peacefully, surrounded by her family, on September 3, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Mabel, known to all as Jean, was predeceased by her husband, Paul Mann; mother, Clara Noddin; father, George Barrett; stepmother, Vera Barrett; sister, Mary Rose; sister-in-law, Sheila Barrett; and brother-in-law, David Bingham. Jean is survived by her children, Michael Mann (Joanne), Ginger Douthwright (Carle), Jim Mann (Marilyn), Kim Woods (Kevin), Jacky Mann and September Douthwright (Shawn); grandchildren, Kailee, Lauren and Scott Mann; Danny (Amanda), Kyle (Vanessa), Anthony (Jennifer), and Andrew (Jody) Douthwright; Ashley Lambert (Adam) and Erin Woods (Josh); great-grandchildren, Noah and Kennedy Douthwright and William and Benjamin Lambert; sister, Paulette Bingham; brother, John Barrett (Diane); and brother-in-law, Norman Rose (Phyllis) as well as several nieces and nephews. Jean’s dream was to become a wife and raise children, stopping at six, which seemed like the right number. She was a very devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Jean’s top priority was her family, which is why she chose to stay home and raise her children. With her children grown, Jean ventured out into the working world as head cook at the Gagetown Nursing Home, where she stayed for 10 years before retiring. Jean enjoy traveling, bingo, luncheons with the Gagetown Nursing Home Retired Club and spending quality time with family, friends and her cat Maggie. Jean enjoyed to spend her Sunday mornings attending service at Grace United Church in Gagetown, NB. She will be missed by all. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit and the Oncology Department at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, also to Dr. Haines, Dr. Anan, Dr. Swan and to the wonderful care provided by the Oromocto Extra Mural Nurses. There will be no visitation. A private service will take place in the Orange Cemetery in Kars, NB, at a later date.
