Memorial service for Mabel Geraldine Smith, 82, of Decatur will be Saturday, April 1, 2006, at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Libby Rollins officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.Mrs. Smith, who died Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at her residence, was born Sept. 19, 1923, in Hudson, Iowa, to Gerald Stanley Hogshead and Verna Mabel Paul Hogshead. She was retired as a medical secretary/office manager. Her husband, Irvin Harold Smith, preceded her in death. Survivors include one daughter, Carol Strong of Decatur; two brothers, Stanley Hogshead of Roseville, Calif., and Howard Hogshead of Jacksonville, Fla.; three grandsons, Ryan Strong of Pensacola, Fla., Rory Strong of Montevallo and Kyle Strong of Mantachie, Miss.; and two great-grandsons, Joshua Strong and Andrew Strong, both of Pensacola, Fla.
