-->Mabel Finch Smith PAULINE, SC-- Mabel Dean Finch Smith, 94, of 4649 Stone Station Road, died peacefully Thursday, September 21, 2007, at her home. Born May 30, 1913, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Marcus Alonzo and Tweety Cassandra Smith Finch and the wife of the late Bomar Boyd Smith. A graduate of Asheville Teachers College, she was a retired teacher from Spartanburg School District 7 with 36 years of service. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church where she was church pianist and a Sunday School teacher for over 40 years. Survivors include a son, Boyd Dean Smith of the home; a daughter, Nancy Smith Lineberry and her husband Ben of Pauline; two grandsons, Benjamin Lineberry and his wife Carly, and Marcus Lineberry and his friend Mallory, all of Spartanburg; a great-grandson, Ben Lineberry; two sisters-in-law, Helen Smith and Marguerite Finch; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her constant trusted friend and companion, Debbie Ammons. Private graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2007. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Philadelphia Baptist Church, Together We Grow or General Fund, PO Box 220, Pauline, SC 29374. The family is at the home.
