Mabel C. Age 86, of Elmira, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2002, at the Chemung County Nursing Facility, following a long physical confinement. She was born on November 17, 1915 in Antrim, PA, the daughter of Isaac and Anna Carlson Anderson. She is survived by her twin sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Everett Schott of Elmira; and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Catherine VanVoorhis, Edith Taft and Ellen Anderson, and a brother, Carl Anderson. Mabel was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She graduated from Southside High School, and retired from S.F. Iszards following 40 years of service. Family and friends are invited to call at Ballard and Lindgren Funeral Home, 161 Oakwood Ave., on Wednesday, June 5, 2002, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. A memorial service will follow there at 2:00 PM, with the Rev. Ann Cassler officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will provide flowers. Those wishing may make donations in Mabel's name to Bethany Lutheran Church or the charity of one's choice.
