HAYES, MRS. FANNIE MAE THOMAS Age 74, of Birmingham, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, West End where she was a member of the Mass Choir and worked in the Food Pantry. Mrs. Hayes was awarded Nurse of the Year in 1998. Survivors are her husband, Mr. Lawrence A. Hayes; son, Mr. Curley "Mickey" Cade (Betty); family members, Mr. Glen Wash, Mrs. Georgiana Alston, Mrs. Beverly Hutchinson, Mr. Judson Pickard; and god sisters, Ms. Belinda Turner, Mrs. Mary E. Johnson, and Mrs. Susie "Little Bit" Phillips. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 11:00 AM from the church, 1740 Cleburn Avenue S.W. Burial in Carver Memorial Gardens.
