Obituary of Mildred-Marie Moriarty


Mildred Marie DeLugo Moriarty ("Millie"), of Rye Brook, New York, died on June 6, 2007 at age 55. Born on September 11, 1951 to Ernest and Irma DeLugo, Moriarty had a successful career in education as a math teacher. After completing her BA in Mathematics at St. Joseph's College in 1973, she received a MA in Gifted Education from the College of New Rochelle in 1991. Moriarty held teaching positions at St. Raphael School (1977-1983), Our Lady of Perpetual Help School (1985-2000), Cloonan Middle School (2000-2001), and Emerson Middle School (2001-2007). She was honored with the Fordham Prep School "Inspirational Teacher" award in 1995 and 1997. Moriarty was also featured in the 1992 and 2005-2006 editions of Who's Who Among America's Teachers. She is survived by her husband, Charles and their two daughters Erin Helene and Kerry Therese. She is also survived by the multitude of students she has inspired and motivated. Viewing on Saturday, June 9 - Sunday, June 10 from 4 PM - 8 PM at Graham Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 11 at 10 am at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Greenwich, CT. Interment to follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye, New York.
