Mary Susan "Sue" Dwyer (nee Hunt), 86, of Thornwood died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on August 23, 2010. Sue was born to Florence and Frederick Hunt on July 9, 1924 in Pocantico Hills. She was one of nine children. She was predeceased by brothers William, Coleridge and Kenneth Hunt and sisters Dorothy Acker, Florence Tompkins, Beatrice Hilosky and Gladys Nicoletti. Her sister Marion Kendall of Pleasantville survives. On June 1, 1941 she married the love of her life, Charles Dwyer, who died in 2003. Sue worked at Readers Digest and the cafeteria at Westlake High School. She was a lifetime member of the Thornwood Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Sue's passion in life was being a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her sons Brian and Peggy of Thornwood, David and Doreen of Pleasantville and daughter Cathy and Bill Wilkens of Brewster and son in law Joseph Litchauer of Poughkeepsie. She was predeceased by daughters, Diane Litchauer and baby Linda. She was most proud of her 12 grandchildren: Susan Eckert, Joe Litchauer, Karen Quinn, Brian and Kevin Dwyer, Michelle Essig, Dave, Tim and Caitie Dwyer and Patrick, Chris and Merissa Wilkens. She also leaves behind 19 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. She will be resting at Beecher Funeral Home in Pleasantville on Monday from 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am at the Hawthorne Reformed Church. Donations to Hospice Care in Westchester and Putnam, 540 White Plains Road, Ste. 300, Tarrytown, NT 10591-9908 in her name would be greatly appreciated.
