MARY PATRICIA IRENE (QUINLAN) JONES On Thursday, April 12th, 2012, at home in Toronto. Born January 27, 1947, in Kentville, Nova Scotia, to the late Helen Irene (Downie) Quinlan and Edmund Peter Quinlan, Patricia was raised in Kentville by her aunt and uncle, the late Dr. Helen (Holden) Quinlan and Dr. John Quinlan. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University in 1968, Patricia studied at the Ontario College of Art and remained in Toronto to pursue a career in advertising. Patricia's interests were in art, particularly painting, cryptic crosswords, badminton, tennis and volunteering at the North York General Hospital and Meals on Wheels. Her greatest joy was in the raising of her children and instilling in them a sense of humour, a love of reading and the true meaning of family. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth George Jones, her daughters Sarah Jones (David Luinstra) of Calgary, Anne Jones, and Kelly Hancock (Sean Hancock); grandchildren James Luinstra-Jones, and Brendan and Allison Hancock; and her sister, Dr. Kathleen Landymore of Halifax. The family would like to thank Fiona at the CCAC, Ana, and the doctors from Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday.
