Mary Marcelline FlynnBirminghamMary Marcelline Flynn, 77, of Birmingham, died March 29, 2012. Marcie was a Birmingham native and a 1952 graduate of John Carroll High School in Birmingham, where she met her husband of 50 years, Bill Flynn. She had a lifelong devotion to her five children, her nine grandchildren, her church and her many, many friends. Marcie enjoyed knitting, traveling and her years spent on the Gulf Coast with "Billy". There will be a visitation at Ridout's Valley Chapel of Homewood from 5 to 7 p.m. today, March 31, 2012, followed by a Scripture service at 7 p.m. A private family service at Elmwood Cemetery will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Father Michael J. Flynn will be officiating the service.She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Charles and Mary O'Flinn, and her husband, William J. Flynn, Jr. of Birmingham. Survivors are sons, Father Michael J. Flynn of Boynton Beach, Florida; Steve Flynn of Mountain Brook and Pat Flynn of Huntsville; daughters: Mary Beth Davis of Huntsville and Kathleen Davis of Mountain Brook; grandchildren, Taylor and Katie Davis; Bo, Mary Katherine and Charlie Flynn; Ryan, Abby and Flynn Davis, and Grace Flynn.A Requiem Mass with family will be celebrated in Marcie's honor at a later date.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Mitchell's Place - A School for Autism Spectrum Disorder at 4778 Overton Road, Birmingham, Alabama 35210.Online condolences may be made at www.ridouts valleychapel.com.
