Mary (Marion) Maguire (nee Purcell) of Pearl River, NY peacefully entered the Kingdom of Heaven on March 4, 2007. She was surrounded by her family and Irish music at her passing. She was born to John and Mary Ann (Guinan) Purcell in New York City in 1934. She married Jerome Maguire and together they shared 46 years of marriage and seven children. She moved her family from New York City to Pearl River in 1968. Mothering was her life's calling, but she also worked as a volunteer at Nyack Hospital for almost 20 years. Those who knew Marion knew that she found happiness in life's simple things; loving her family, her faith in God, and her friends. She was an extraordinary mother and grandmother. She always had a kind word and a smile for those around her. She had a hug and kiss for all right up to the very end. She was the heart of her very large and extended family. She is survived by her husband, Jerome, daughter, Joann of Suffern, son, Stephen of Arlington, VA, daughter, Christine (Duffy) and her husband Owen of Albany, NY, daughter, Mary (Witte) and her husband, Dan of Chicago, IL, daughter, Dorothy of Valley Cottage,NY, son, John and his wife, Jeanne of Garnerville, NY, son, Patrick of Mahwah, NJ, and five beautiful grandchildren, Theresa, Catherine, Maria, Jack and Katie. She was preceded in death by her brother, Patrick (Jimmy) Purcell and her parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at 10:00 am at St. Anthony's Church in Nanuet, NY.
