WASHINGTON -- Mary J. Sanborn, 69, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at her home following a long illness. She was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on Nov. 4, 1943, a daughter of the late Charles and Edith (Geary) Casper. Mrs. Sanborn was a graduate of Olney High School in Philadelphia, class of 1960, and was a homemaker for most of her life. She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Casper; and a grandson, Mark Griffies Jr. Mrs. Sanborn is survived by her husband, Stephen P. Sanborn, of Washington; two sons, Stephen C. Sanborn and Philip J. Sanborn, both of Washington; two daughters, Susan Griffies and her husband, Mark, of Philadelphia, and Jeannie, of Jefferson; a sister, Dolores Dollarton, and her husband, Jack, of Sea Isle, N.J.; six grandchildren, Michael, Ethan, Joshua, Brody, Ashley and Christopher; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.There will be no public visiting hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring in the new Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.Those who desire may make donations in Mary's memory to: Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care, P.O.
