SCOTT, MARY HERSCHEL ARMS (CRICKET) - age 80, of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015, surrounded by family. Cricket was born March 13, 1934, in Celina, Tennessee. Cricket was blessed with a servant's heart. She was a loving, caring and gentle woman. Cricket did not see imperfections or flaws in people, she accepted them as they were. Cricket's home was always open to all who entered and so was her heart. She was always quick to greet you with a warm hug and a kind word that made you thankful for the encounter. She was the light and love in everyone's eyes that she met and truly was a blessing. Cricket's character, values, and sound faith could not be shaken. She lived by the mantra, "Whatever will be, will be." Cricket married the love of her life, Perry Lee Scott, and they were married 62 wonderful years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Herschel and Ida Frankie Arms; brothers and sisters; and great granddaughter, Harmony A'rie McClelland. She is survived by her husband, Perry Lee Scott; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Jerry Gresham; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Nancee Scott; grandchildren, Frankie and Kelsey Gresham, Jennifer and Chris McClelland, Brittney Gresham and Chris Williamson; great grandchildren, Nico Almeida-Gresham and one precious one on the way; and several nieces, nephews, step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren. The family will receive friends 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at Mynatt Funeral Home in Fountain City with Funeral Service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Family and friends will meet 10:15 a.m., Friday, at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City and proceed to Lynnhurst Cemetery for interment at 11:00 a.m. www.mynattfh.com
